MSME Ministry Promotes Energy Efficiency and Green Practices in MSME Sector

The Ministry of MSME, alongside the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, is actively promoting green transitions for small businesses through a multifaceted support system that combines technical handholding with substantial financial incentives. Key initiatives include the MSME Champion Scheme, which provides up to ₹2 lakh for consultancy and ₹3 lakh for technology upgrades to ZED-certified units, and the MSE-GIFT scheme, which offers a 2% interest subvention for green technology adoption. Additionally, the MSE-SPICE scheme provides a 25% capital subsidy for circular economy projects, while the ADEETIE scheme specifically targets 14 energy-intensive sectors with 3–5% interest subvention and technical assistance for energy audits. Together, these programs aim to lower the financial barriers for MSMEs to adopt sustainable, energy-efficient, and waste-reducing industrial practices across India's manufacturing clusters.
