These rules may be called the Companies (Registered Valuers and Valuation) Amendment Rules, 2026.
The Companies (Registered Valuers and Valuation) Amendment Rules, 2026, update the eligibility criteria for Registered Valuer Organizations (RVOs) by substituting Rule 12(1)(i). Under the new mandate, an RVO must be registered as a Section 8 company (or Section 25 under the 1956 Act) and maintain a minimum paid-up share capital of ₹25 lakh, while retaining the sole object of regulating valuers for specific asset classes and maintaining compliant bye-laws. To ensure a smooth transition, existing RVOs that do not currently meet this capital threshold are granted a grace period to comply on or before March 31, 2028
